Harold and Shirley Robinson H²YP Youth Philanthropy Program

Harold and Shirley Robinson H²YP Youth Philanthropy Program

This program, developed by the Partnership for Jewish Life and Learning, enables high school students to act as a board, reviewing grant proposals and then deciding on which programs to fund to benefit residents of the Hebrew Home of Greater Washington.  This is a great opportunity for young people to engage in meaningful philanthropy with a Jewish lens and build a stronger, in-depth connection with a vital Jewish communal organization, the Hebrew Home of Greater Washington.

Open to 9th-11th grade students.  The program meets on six Sunday afternoons from January-May.  For registration information, please contact Lisa Friedman (friedman@hebrew-home.org).

Torah School of Greater Washington

According to the Torah School of Greater Washington it was established to educate, motivate, challenge, and inspire Jewish children of all backgrounds without regard to race, color, country of origin, or sex. Their students are provided with a curriculum of excellence in both Judaic and secular studies which equips them with all the tools necessary to successfully continue their higher education. This includes a strong emphasis on the basics (e.g. English and Hebrew literacy, writing skills, mathematics, geography) and on higher thinking and comprehension skills. Their  youngsters develop pride as Jews and Americans and a strong love for Eretz Yisrael.
