Communities of Practice (CoP)
“Communities of Practice are groups of people who share a concern, a set of problems, or a passion about a topic, and who deepen their knowledge and expertise in this area by interacting on an ongoing basis.” (Etienne Wegner, Cultivating Communities of Practice)
A community of practice is more than a network of connections between people. It is characterized by a shared domain of interest as well as a commitment to building community and enhancing the practice of its members.
All three elements are crucial:
- The domain consists of the real issues and challenges that community members experience and are dealing with every day;
- As a community, members build the relationships that enable them to learn from each other;
- The practice is the body of shared knowledge and experience that helps members become more effective practitioners.
For each of our communities of practice, the role of the Partnership is to support these three elements in order to help each CoP reach its full potential.
Current CoPs working with the Partnership include:
- Israel Educators
- CE21 Educators
