All programs meet on selected Sunday afternoons from their start date through April/May 2013.

Maryland/DC 8th- 9th Grade Opportunities:

Collaborative JYPI Groups

Imagine being told you have $10,000 to give away. How would you decide who to give it to? Join one of the Collaborative JYPI Groups being hosted in your area and get the chance to answer that very question!

Please use the specific contact information below to get more information on these Collaborative JYPI groups. While priority registration for each group will go to teens from these congregations, all teens in the community are welcome!

Maryland/DC 9th-11th Grade Opportunity:

H2YP Youth Philanthropy Board at the Hebrew Home of Greater Washington

Are you a high school student eager to make funding decisions for large local nonprofits like the Hebrew Home of Greater Washington?  Join their teen philanthropy board today!

Northern Virginia 8th-9th Grade Opportunity:

Collaborative JYPI Group

Imagine being told you have $10,000 to give away! How would you decide who to give it to? Register for the Northern Virginia Collaborative JYPI Group and get the chance to answer that very question!

Beth El Hebrew Congregation, Congregation Adat Reyim, Congregation Beth Emeth, Northern Virginia Hebrew Congregation and Shoreshim are co-sponsoring this hands-on interactive program where teens from around Northern Virginia come together to evaluate grant proposals from local, national and international nonprofits.

Opportunity for Returning JYPI Participants:

JYPI 201

This advanced granting program is the next step for teens in 9th-12th grades who have completed a JYPI program and want to expand their grant making experience!

This program is open to teens who have completed at least one JYPI youth philanthropy group, which includes the collaborative JYPI groups and the agency groups (i.e. Hebrew Home’s H2YP Group). A facilitator recommendation letter or e-mail is also required.  Please contact Michele Duchin at mduchin@pjll.org for the JYPI 201 registration information.
