Heshvan Service Learning Resources

As we “kick-off” our annual commitment to social action and social justice, the current month of Heshvan is a perfect addition to the traditional four new years on the Jewish calendar. With no classic holiday obligations this month, take the opportunity to shoulder the critical obligations of repairing our world, pursuing justice and doing kind acts for others.

Use this month of Heshvan to make your “new year resolutions,” and consider how and when you will take action to meet the needs of your local, national and global community throughout the year.

o PeacePlayers International Youth Activism Kit – Plan a basketball tournament, a concert or another exciting event to support PPI’s work to unite, educate and inspire young people in divided communities through basketball!

o Kulanu’s Mitzvah Project Program – Design a meaningful mitzvah project to support Jewish communities in places such as Africa, South America and more!

o Jewish National Fund B’nai Mitzvah Projects - With more than half a dozen projects listed, select the one that best represents your passion!

Consider hospitality: A timely form of kindness in action:
