Supporting People with Disabilities and Special Needs
The Partnership strives to engage all people across the lifespan in Jewish education and identity building experiences. Professionals and resources are available to help make that happen regardless of special learning needs or accommodations necessary. We provide information, resources, advocacy, consultation, networking, and professional development to: individuals; parents; teachers and administrators in preschools, congregational and day schools; summer camps; youth directors; adult educators; and clergy in our community. In addition, we offer assistance to professional and lay leaders of area congregations and agencies in their efforts to offer resources, accommodations and services in the Jewish community expanding inclusion opportunities for people with disabilities.
The Partnership also provides disability awareness training for area youth groups and help develop more opportunities in our Jewish youth groups for teens with disabilities. Our goal is to help ensure that every member of the community, children and adults alike, have inclusive access to the range of Jewish social, educational, cultural and religious opportunities that the Greater Washington area has to offer.
