Teen Philanthropy Education and Service Learning

Jewish Youth Philanthropy Initiative (JYPI)
Offers young people real life experiences that provide them with the chance to understand how philanthropy, leadership and service are an expression of our Jewish values.

Program opportunities include:

  • Collaborative JYPI Groups - Using our award winning JYPI program model, congregations come together to offer their teens the opportunity to evaluate grant proposals, conduct site visits, choose grant recipients and see first hand the impact of their giving.
  • Agency Teen Philanthropy Boards – Teens engage in meaningful philanthropy through a Jewish lens focused on building a stronger connection between them and our community’s social service agencies.
  • Fast Philanthropy - A fundraising challenge and teen-led funding session that brings a taste of philanthropy to congregations and youth groups!

Professional Networks and Communities of Practice

  • Convene the Regional Youth Group Directors as partners in enriching teens’ Jewish identity and personal development
  • Collaboratively generate ideas to motivate and engage teens
  • Continually scan current community offerings to expose new opportunities and close gaps
  • Bring our expertise to networks of professionals discussing teen engagement
  • Ensure inclusion in teen programming
